Perfect for travellers who have already experienced the classic highlights of Rome, this 9-day Rome and Puglia vacation offers a more immersive journey through Italy. Discover hidden corners of the Eternal City before travelling south to Puglia, where ancient cave dwellings, whitewashed villages, coastal landscapes and exceptional regional cuisine reveal a more authentic side of Southern Italy. Time
Day 1
Upon arrival at Rome Airport, you will be greeted inside the terminal by your assistant. A private porter will assist you at the baggage claim and handle your luggage. You will then proceed to the arrivals lounge, where your chauffeur will be waiting to welcome you. You'll then be escorted to your private vehicle and transferred to your Hotel. This journey takes approximately one hour. In the late afternoon, meet your private chauffeur driver and expert local guide for a relaxed sunset journey through two of Rome’s most atmospheric neighbourhoods: Monti and Trastevere. Begin in Monti, one of Rome’s oldest and most characterful districts, known for its cobbled streets, artisan boutiques, wine bars and neighbourhood atmosphere. Continue by private vehicle to Trastevere as the city begins to glow in the evening light. Along the way, enjoy a selection of traditional Roman specialties and local tastings while your guide shares stories about Roman food culture, neighbourhood life and the traditions behind some of the city’s most beloved dishes. The experience concludes with dinner at a traditional Roman trattoria.
Day 2
After breakfast, meet your private chauffeur driver and expert guide in the hotel lobby and set out to discover some of Rome’s more intriguing artistic and historical treasures. Begin with the haunting Capuchin Crypt, an extraordinary and thought-provoking glimpse into Rome’s religious past. Continue along elegant Via Veneto, stopping for an Italian espresso at Harry’s Bar, before visiting the magnificent Borghese Gallery, home to exceptional masterpieces by Bernini, Caravaggio and other great Italian artists. Your journey continues to the Basilica of San Clemente, where you will descend beneath the present-day church to uncover centuries of Roman history layered one beneath another. Conclude the experience with lunch at Michelin-starred Aroma, where Chef Giuseppe Di Iorio presents refined Italian cuisine inspired by seasonal regional flavours, accompanied by spectacular views overlooking the Colosseum. lunch to be paid for separately
Day 3
After breakfast, meet your private guide and explore the Ancient Appian Way by e-bike, cycling through Roman ruins, peaceful parklands and countryside landscapes. Visit the Catacombs, pass the Mausoleum of Caecilia Metella and Villa dei Quintili, and continue through the Caffarella Valley to the impressive Park of the Aqueducts. Duration: Approx. 6 hours Includes: Premium e-bike, helmet, private guide, catacombs visit and bottled water.
Day 4
Take the Train in Executive Class to Puglia. Travel in ultimate comfort aboard Trenitalia’s Executive Class, an exclusive carriage featuring spacious leather armchairs, extra privacy, and personalised onboard service. Enjoy a gourmet dining experience served directly at your seat, including menus created by renowned Italian chef Carlo Cracco. Meet your driver upon arrival at Bari Centrale Railway Station for a private transfer to your accommodations. Settle in your rooms and enjoy aperitivo and dinner at your resort
Day 5
Enjoy the morning to relax at your resport. In the late afternoon, transfer in a V-Klasse Mercedes Chauffeur to Polignano a Mare. Meet your captain for a private boat excursion to discover the town’s spectacular sea caves and crystal-clear waters. Afterward, enjoy free time to stroll through the charming historic centre, browse artisan boutiques. A couple of our favorite stops include Rifatti ad arte an object and jewelry store. Visit Maria Rita Pavone’s jewelry shop called Maripà. Enjoy dinner in the main square 'Domenico Modugno' at Osteria di Chichibio.
Day 6
Begin the morning with a guided stroll through Ostuni, the iconic “White City,” exploring its quiet alleyways and whitewashed historic centre before the crowds arrive. Continue into the countryside for a visit to a family-run masseria, where you’ll discover the traditions behind handmade mozzarella and burrata before enjoying a tasting of local cheeses, bruschetta, cured meats, and Apulian wine surrounded by ancient olive groves. You will return to your resort by 01.00pm so you can enjoy the entire day at the private beach club, visit the spa and enjoy dinner
Day 7
Meet your chauffeur for a drive to Matera, where your expert guide will lead you through the ancient Sassi cave dwellings, including a fascinating 13th-century rock church carved into the hillside. Explore narrow stone pathways, historic cave homes, and breathtaking viewpoints overlooking the city. Conclude the experience with an aperitivo featuring local wine and regional specialties surrounded by the spectacular landscape of the Murgia Park.
Day 8
After breakfast and check-out, you will transfer to Bari Airport. Vacation Price for 2 adults: € 12,500; 4 adults: € 14,500; 6 adults: €17,500; includes all tours and services. Hotels will be added separately
