Those wonderful sisters at Luxury Collective Studio invited us for an end-of-summer aperitivo at Casa Monti’s rooftop terrace — and we couldn’t imagine a more Roman way to say goodbye to the season.

Aperitivo Time! at Casa Monti

Alberto and I seized the moment to catch up with our fantastic guide Francesco, linger over lunch at yet another delicious trattoria, and reconnect with partners and colleagues, Negroni in hand, as the sun melted into the rooftops of the Eternal City.

After a leisurely lunch with Francesco in Esquilino, we wandered past Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore, one of Rome’s four major papal basilicas. During lunch, we discussed how  Pope Francis has chosen to be buried here, outside Vatican City.  Apparently, this hasn’t happened since 1903, when Pope Leo XIII was buiried at St. John Lateran.

As soon as you Step onto Via Panisperna, you feel that Monti Vibe - this main road leads you to the heart of the district ‘Rione Monti’  a place to enjoy a Roman Lifestlye. Visit the growers' markets, bakeries and delicatessens. Relax in wine bars and local restaurants in Piazza Madonna dei Monti.

Upon arrival, we were welcomed by the lovely sales manager Irene Rosetti for an inspection. At Casa Monti, it feels more like you're entering an elegant Roman noble's private palazzo than a hotel. We visited the Terrace Suite, Cozy Room and the Junior Suite.

The creative force behind Casa Monti is Laura Gonzalez, the Parisian architect celebrated for her vibrant, layered style. Gonzalez has reimagined icons like Hotel Relais Christine and Saint James Paris, and her Roman debut marries mosaic detail, artisanal ceramics, and lush texture in perfect balance.

Casa Monti offers 26 rooms and 10 suites, blending intimacy with indulgence. The vibe is chic yet cozy, emphasizing “sublime comfort” through bespoke furnishings, plush linens, and delightful small luxuries — think silk sleep masks, mineral sprays, and melatonin gummies instead of standard hotel chocolates.

The Casa Monti restaurant serves typical Roman cuisine. After dinner, head upstairs to the rooftop bar, where cocktails meet skyline views and time politely stops to let you enjoy the moment. Casa Monti’s Susanne Kaufmann spa delivers tranquillity with a Roman twist: massages, facials, and a rooftop jacuzzi overlooking Monti’s terracotta skyline.
